Posting!

It's been 61 weeks since I posted. Huh. That's like February of last year. Wow.

Anyway, little things:

I've applied for an international exhange to Austria. I'm thinking I'll be accepted, so here's hoping. I think it'd be awesome to go study in Europe!

Another thing: I was totally Columbia last night! Save for the outfit.

Picture!

I was also Frank, but that wasn't nearly as suiting.

Yeah, so that amused me. Yay!

It's been a while

It's been a while since I posted, but not all that much has occured. Mostly, I've been working.

At work, I've finished my training and have gotten to do a few year ends and a lot of T4s and T5s. Joy, no? We've moved into 48 hour work weeks as well. However, I only got 46 hours or so in this week, because I ran out of work yesterday.

Friday, I had a really off day. I missed the staff meeting, missed my bus stop, lost my bus passes (Jan and Feb). It was not very nice. Yesterday though, I walked to work (30 minutes or so), worked for about 5 hours,  and walked to the bus terminal. Someone had found my bus pass! I was so happy. And there was even a little peak of sun yesterday. I went up to the Wal-mart and got some CDs, Cliffhanger on DVD, some hamster stuff, and knitting stuff. And I got my hair cut off; it's nice.

Oh, I have two pets now. A fish named Grissom and a hamster named Cliff. They are cute...and I have to clean the fish water and the hamster cage today or tomorrow sometime. Cliff is so spoiled with his Habitrail.

What else is new? I had a birthday and am 20 now. Not a big deal, I have one every year. I got myself a bottle of Absinth. I've had one drink out of the bottle. I don't drink often, so it'll last a long time. I like it though. Yummy green faries. I now have an urge to watch Moulin Rouge. I think I have the DVD. Otherwise, I have an avi of it, so I'll be able to watch it someway.

It's sunny today, which is nice. I miss the sun. I think I might go hang out in the red room and knit and watch a movie or listen to music or something. Enjoy the sun. Maybe go for a walk. We'll see.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to going out to a client's this week. Wee. So, I'll tell ya'll about it.

Take care.

New Job, etc.

Hey guys!

My move went well, although it was a little later in the day then I had intended. I got all my stuff moved in around 8:30 pm. Basically, got my stuff in, put the bed together, set the alarm and went to sleep, cause I had work the next day.

My first day at work, I was extremely early. I had no idea what time the buses ran at or how long they would take. The office wasn't even open at that point. Work was really neat though. A lot of reading the first few days. I'm completing 'Phase 1 Orientation'. I'm about half way through the giant binder.

I've just started a module that's supposed to take 13-15 hours to complete. Gah. Should be interesting though. Better that just reading hundreds of power point slides.

Friday I went curling for the first time. I got the stone right on the button! Wee. I still hurt from it, but not too much. I'll probably go again, but not next week. I think my dad and step-mom might be coming up from Atlanta next weekend, so I'm leaving it open for them just now.

Anyway, I'm still waiting on highspeed internet. I'm currently using my Opa's dial-up account through my landlady's phone line. I just realized that I could do this this morning. I'm a bright one sometimes.

Take care, everyone!

Neglecting LJ

I've totally been neglecting my livejournal. I've been occupied with YouTube it seems. I've posted two video blogs. Wee.

Anyway, I finished my exams saturday afternoon. I'm so glad to be finished. My last exam, my accounting exam, was my least pleasant this year. However, I'm sure that I passed. No more classes until May. Wee!

I start my work term next month. I'm excited, but a little worried. I still have to find a place to live up there. I think that I'm going to make some phone calls by the end of this week. I need to find something that I can move into for the 1st of the month. It shouldn't be too horrible to find something. I don't need anything fancy. It'll just be me living there.

Oh, I was supposed to go home sunday morning, but ended up snowed in. The annoying part is that sunday was the only day that my brother could get me before friday. So, I'm still away at school waiting until friday afternoon to go home. My housemates have aslready left, so it's just me in the basement. It's kind of lonely, but I'm thankful for highspeed internet.

I'm working on my christmas cards. I've learned a new paper folding technique that looks really cool. Perhaps, I'll post some pictures sometime. We'll see. I still have to figure out how many I need to make. Wee.

I went to the mall yesterday. It was absolutly insane. So many people were there shopping. Thankfully, I was only there for about 15 minutes to get groceries. I was able to catch a late bus leaving the mall. It was running 15 minutes late, then took over 5 minutes to get out of the parking lot. It was annoying. I will not be going to the mall again this year, so I'm glad.

Well, that's all for now. Take care, lovelies!

Goodbye is too hard to say

Today I had to say goodbye to one of the greatest guys I've ever met. I remember last christmas. Being away from him for those three weeks was so hard. Then the summer. I was away from him for four months. He almost died in that time, literally. I could hardly stand being away from him. He's just so lovely.

So, today, I said good bye to him for a possible 20 months. That's more than a year. I don't know what I'm going to do. We're both in co-op programs at university, so we're only at the school at certain times. We just barely end up there at the same time from now on. I think maybe 8 months out of the next 2 and a half years. It really sucks, as he rocks so much.

Saying good bye to him today, knowing that that hug was going to be the last for ages, was the hardest thing I think that I've ever had to do. Possibly not, but really far up there. I have had to say good bye to my mom, knowing I wouldn't see her for over a year.

I just didn't want to let him go. Ever. I had no idea it'd be so hard. I just kept wishing he didn't have to go. I just hope so much that I'll see him at least once before that 20 months is over.

I'll miss my other friends too. However, I'll see them in 4 months for sure. And Dave's really special to me.

-Columbia

Edit: Dave's coming over one last time tomorrow after his last exam. I am stoked! Except, I'll have to let him go all over again tomorrow. I'm so glad that he's not 20 months away....yet.

(no subject)

I'm just really annoyed. Finals. Family drama. Need to find a place to live. Leaving my Brock friends. Moving to where I know no one...again. It's annoying. Acurse worthy.

As for my finance final, I'm sure that I will not fail. Based on the practice exam, I definatly know enough to pass. It makes me glad. Very.

I'm not sure how I'm getting home for the holidays yet. It seems that I'll have to get Opa to drive me. Dad wont be up again until the 20th and Andy isn't finished until then. I'd rather not spend an extra 5 days here by myself. I'd rather be home with friends or something.

Anyway, this is really just to keep me from studying, which I ought to be doing. I might just go to bed early and get up at a decent time to complete my study notes to take with me. We'll see.

Anyway, good night, everyone.

-Columbia

Vent....

I have final exams like crazy this week. I'm very much not looking forward to them. They're worth 40% and 50% of my final grades for those courses. It's stupid.

I'm kind of looking forward to the holiday, but a little less so now that I've talked to my oldest brother, Andy. What he told be was rather distressing. Apparently, my dad (who lives in GA, 17 hour drive from here) had to fly up here on the 29th. The reason was that my other brother, Brian, is being a douche again. He had a smash up the place and drive drunk day. My grandparents were leaving for a week or so and didn't want to leave just him at the farm in case he did something even more stupid, like burn down the houses. Anything is possible. Andy is in school, like me, so he couldn't just stay there the entire time. So  dad had to fly up here.

Dad is flying back down on the 12th to drive back up for the 20th with Te, my step-mom. I'll bet he's not pleased about any of that. I know I wouldn't be. I'm not looking forward to dealing with my family drama this holiday. That is why I'm looking less forward to my holiday than I was before.

I am glad that I'll get to see my friends again. I haven't seen them since August, so it's been a while.

I still have to find a place to live for January. I'd best get on that. Andy told me he'd take me up to Owen Sound to look at places when I get some veiwings arranged. So, next week, roughly. I want to get a 1 bedroom appartment downtown for under $600. If they allowed pets, that would be nice, but not needed. I can live without my cat for a while. I do that now. I miss my Boy. He's a good kitty.

Oh, Brian killed the lizard too, apparently. That's one thing I didn't see coming. The general smash things I saw coming. Everyone did. Other than my grandfather. That brother should have been kicked out in hte summer already when he flipped out and started pushing our 75 year old grand father around and throughing beer bottles about while the police officer was still there. He's a real idiot.

Well, this rant has gone on for far too long. I must go study for my finance final (50% of my mark). I have that one tomorrow. Gah. After this bunch of finals, I have no more until ... June? I think. Sometime in the summer. Cause I'll be working next term. woo.

That's all for now. Take care.

I've rediscovered deviant ART. I uploaded some new stuff... and some not so new stuff. Check it out:

Anyway, that's really all I have to say. I've been writing fic again. Studying for exams causes a lot of creative output. Otherwise, my brain night die.

Take care, darlings.

Studying...

It's that time of year again. Time for final exams. I'm not overly enthusiastic about the whole ordeal. I have my first exam tomorrow morning. Much too early aswell. I have to go to school on the 7:30 bus. That's am, guys. It officially sucks. At least it's my only morning exam this year. It's going to be my easiest exam this year too. I know all the material, thankfully.  I've also been studying. You know, between the bouts of procrastination. I'm making notes and going to go over the quizes that we've done. Especially that one that I did completly wrong (but got marked as perfect. Weird markers, apparently).

I look forward to going home for a few weeks. I really miss my cats. I haven't seen them since August. Poor little darlings, they are.

I received my official offer of employment for my co-op placement. I'm very excited to start, but kind of scared too. It's something completly new.

Oh, during one of my bouts of procrastination today, I made a "happy birthday, Kasim" video clip. It's only 9 seconds long. It's my contribution to a larger video that is being put together for him. It was fun making the clip though. I hope he likes the video that comes from the entire project. We'll find out soon enough. His birthday is on saturday.

I got to talk to a friend of mine who I hadn't spoken to since september or so. I was so glad to talk to her. I miss her insanity. Well, her completly reasonable insanity that I share with her. We were both being distracted from studying. Horray for Facebook!

Well, back to studying. Take care, lovelies.

PS. Meat Loaf's 3 Bats Tour DVD comes out in Canada tomorrow! I'll be heading to the mall after my exam to find myself a copy.

EMPLOYABLE!

Finally! After 5 months trying to get a job, I have one! I rock. 6th one was the charm. Now I just have to cancel the seventh one.

Wow, I'm in shock. So glad to be employable.

Take care, loves.

More Interviews!

Well, I'm going to be having 2 more interviews in the next little while. Here's hoping that I'm employable now. The good news is that I'm the only one up for either position, because they want someone from the area.  I grew up 45 minutes from those offices, so that's a good thing. The offices are smaller than those I've interviewed for previously. Probably, because the town is not as big as, say, Toronto.

Anyway, I must send some emails. I just wanted to post the good news. I'll let you know how it turns out.

New Video

I made that video today. I hope you guys enjoy it. I plan on making another fan video, but I'm not sure how to go about it yet. When I have an idea, I'll get to work.

Wow, it's been three days since my last post here. I feel so truant. It's not even like I've been all that busy. Sure, I have exams and projects coming up due. That doesn't mean that I've been preparing for those. I'll get to it eventually.

Well, other than that, my life has been fairly dull, so that's all I shall write just now. Take care.

My Freezer is Full

Not much to talk about today, which ought to be obvious given the subject line. I went shopping today, that was really all I did. I went with my housemate/friend and his parents. I got a lighter for my candle, which is burning now and smells really nice. Well, we went to the grocery store and M&M's meat shops. M&M's sells mainly frozen food. I bought a lot of stuff there and some freezer stuff at the grocery store. My friend bought a lot of freezer stuff too. Plus, our freezer was already basically full.

Well, after some rearranging my moi of the little freezer, it was able to fit all it had before, plus my stuff, with more room then it had started with. Basically, I rock. The big freezer was a little more challenging. I left that to my housemate to figure out.

So, now that our freezers are full, we ought to be able to last forever without buying food. Well, at least a week. Maybe. We'll see.

That's all for tonight, folks. Take care.

Unemployable...

I'm starting to feel rather unemployable. I've had a number of interviews for co-op placements, but no job offers. I know for a fact that I'm competent. I don't mean that in a conceded way. I just know that I know plenty to get myself through my co-op placements. I'm pretty sure that I've had decent interviews. It's just really frustrating. All of my co-op friends in my immediate circle have gotten jobs already. I know I can do the job, I just need the chance to prove it. It's do disheartening. I'm happy for my friends though.

I'm actually working!

Horray! I'm nearly finished my economics assignment. I've been a little unfocused though. If I had had more focus earlier today, I'd probably be finished by now. It's not that difficult of an assignment. That's something I'm quite glad about. Otherwise, my procrastination would have screwed me over. I rock though.

Okay, I should really get back to my assignment. I dont want my unfocused-ness to cause the last 30 minutes to an hour of work left to take 3 hours.

Crazy - Experimental Images

This is the product of procrastination. However, I did actually do some work today. I did much of the grunt work for the assignment that is due monday. I'll do the rest of the project tomorrow. Kind of like the last one that I did the day before. That was one hell of a day though.

Anyway, I'm watching movies on TV at the moment. So, take care, everyone.

Finished!

I just finished typing up my accounting assignment. It took about 3 hours to type it up and format it. It was ridiculous for having already done it. I sould have done it on the computer to begin with. It sure would have cut off a lot of time. I spent so long working on the assignment last night too. I was at a friend's house until 11:30pm. This assignment was crazy. Tomorrow I get to start on my economics assignment. Oh, joy.

I'm cutting this short, because I'm tired and must head off to bed. Take care!

-Columbia

Assignments...Gah

Wow, I was actually productive last night. I'm rather impressed. I worked with a group last night on our giant accounting assignment. It's technically an individual assignment, but we worked together some, just for the understanding. We did some of the math together and made sure everyone understood the question and meathods. I still need to type up all my answers, but I have the thinking part finished. I need to get it all typed and finished today/tonight, as it's due tomorrow. I don't recall if I'm to hand it in to the drop box or in class. I'll have to check. Not a big deal.

My economics class has an assignment due on monday. I haven't started it, but I know how to do it. I'll be working on that tomorrow, saturday, and finishing it sunday. I also have to finish up the smaller accounting assignment for monday. It wont take long, which is a nice change.

I really would liketo get to Rocky Horror this month, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to. I know that I can get there and back, and can go to the show. That's not the issue. The issue is that the earliest bus going back home is 7:15am and the show is over around 2am. I'm not so keen on wandering Toronto by myself for 5 early hours. I want someone with me at the very least. I have one friend who I'm trying to get to go with me, so we'll see. *crosses fingers*

I must actually go work on my assignments now. Take care!

Homework day

It's homework day, which means that it's time for procrastination. Well, I have read over the assignment I'm working on and have even started answering the problems, so I'm not totally procrastinating. Facebook, phone, lunch. You were all designed to keep me from my work. Damn you!

I put my contacts in today. The one had a fluff or something on it, so I cleaned it...then put it in backwards. Man, did that hurt! After that, I just counldn't make it feel comfortable and my eye hurt so badly. I still have a head ache, which I blame on that. I'll try again with the contacts tomorrow. Hopefully, the experience will be a better one.

::Breaks for homeworking::

Okay, I lied. I did no such thing just then. Damn Facebook.

::Actually breaks for homeworking::

I did some of my assignment, yay! Not nearly as much as I had planned, because I had a phone call and dinner. I'm just glad to be on my way with the assignment. I'll have to work on it tomorrow and thursday to finish it for friday, but it'll be done on time.

Okay, now the Sushi go-round game is distracting me. I've already beaten it, yet it's still entertaining.

And YouTube. Gah.

Well, I'm actually going to post this now. Just so you know, I've written this post over the course of about 5 hours.

Take Care!
